notre "beer garden" english style!

Hello again.

After a very hectic winter we now have the summer season upon us here at the brewery.  To start things off we are having a BBQ on Friday night between 4 and 8pm.  This will be on every Friday during the summer so we look forward to meeting as many people as possible in our ‘english style’ beer garden!

At brewery HQ, Seb has been busy brewing, with another batch of our ‘Bette Noir’ stout on it’s way. He also has some company now as Dan has moved down from Smokey Joes in Les 2 Alpes and we also are lucky to have a ‘stagiaire’ for the summer.  Thomas Evans has joined us for the summer from the University of Dijon and, along with Seb, they will be conjuring up some new session beers.

We have some building work going on at the moment at the brewery, primarily trying to create more space so we can expand our cold room.  Luckily Jaap from has been working away on this for us.

For the next week we will have our usual market stall on Saturday and don’t forget the BBQ on Friday between 4-8pm.

All for now.

Lots happening...

Another week has flown by here at GB headquarters.

First of all from last weekend in Les 2 Alpes, we are pleased to say that the local roller derby team, Sc'Alpes Hell Roller Derby,  had a great win by one point against Cherry Blood(new name for a Halloween beer perhaps).  You can see some pictures/videos of the team in action here.  As a company we enjoy helping our local clubs and societies.

This weekend we are at a music and dance show starring the local school children at the foyer municipal in Bourg d'Oisans.  All proceeds from our beers go towards the association of parents who help organise this event, and many more throughout the year.

Seb received an early Christmas present on Wednesday, a Unitank for the brewery. This is a vessel which allows us to do fermentation, chilling, carbonating and kegging all from the same tank.  This tank can also be used for lagering in the future.

Another exciting development is that the brewery is in the latest edition of the Oisans mountain guide for local artists, craftsmen and producers.  This guide tells people where they can visit in the region to experience local people at work and to sample the local produce.  We are therefore pleased to announce that brewery tours will be available every Tuesday during the summer from 2.30pm.  Please email or call us to arrange a tour (We can of course arrange other times to suit).

More exciting news to follow, enjoy your weekend everyone.

In demand..

Bonjour à tous

As promised here is our second instalment of 'life at the Goodwin brewery'!  In the coming week our beer is again in demand at different functions.  This Saturday and Sunday in Les Deux Alpes we have our local roller derby team competing in a four team tournament.  I'm sure a beer or two will be needed by the team after their bruising matches!  Good luck girls.

Also in Les Deux Alpes, Bristol University Snowsports Club are bringing around 1700 fun loving students for a festival on snow.  They asked us to come up with a special brew so Seb obliged and here is an exclusive picture of Panda Pale, fresh from labelling this morning.

Talking of Seb, his next brew is a batch of Codswallop(pale ale), perfect to drink in the lovely sunny weather!

Have a lovely weekend everyone.

Our first blog

Hello everyone.  As our business grows we would like to use our blog to keep you updated with what we have been up to and what plans/events we have coming up.

Last weekend we started off in the morning at the weekly Bourg d'Oisans market.  You will find our stall outside the Salazard Boulangerie.  The market is very sociable so please come and say hello.  Chris usually mans the stall even in the cold weather.  He is the man for all weathers!

On Saturday night we provided the bar for our local MJ fund raising night for a forthcoming trip to London.  An excellent night was had by everyone and the St Patrick's night theme went down a storm.....along with our newest product!  Seb has brewed a stout which has proven a success on draught so we decided to take along some bottles which went down very well.

Our website as you can tell is in english but we will have a french language option in the very near future.

That's all for now, more news to follow very soon.

Have a great week everyone.
